BDSL GameDay – Yemen Elite vs Polonia

Yemen Elite will face Polonia in Sahlen’s Park Soccer field located in Elma.  This will be a game of 2 veteran teams who have been in the league for a long time.  Yemen Elite with a mix of young bloods and experienced troops should give Polonia, a former Premier team, a great game.  Yemen Elite coming off a convincing but physical win verse Tonawanda City in Tonawanda will again have to show composure and skill against a hungry Polonia team which lost a close game  to the Roos 2-1.

Kick off is at 6PM @ Sahlen’s Sportspark 1 . Come show your support, bring your friends and family along for what should be a great game.

Fall League WEEK 8 (SEMIFINALS)- Commentary

Sahlens Sports Park : 4/15 News RELEASE

PLAYOFFS?… YOU TALK ABOUT PLAYOFFS?… PLAYOFFS? YOU KIDDIN ME.. PLAYOFFS?

There was a lot of hype leading up to this weeks semis, one could only hope the games this weekend could live up to the expectation. The first game saw the undefeated FC BARCELONA going up against the number 4th seed and much feared TEAM BRASIL.  FC BARCELONA’s prior meeting with BRAZIL and BRAZIL’s thrashing had generated some doubt because BRAZIL’s roster wasn’t completely intact at the time and BRAZIL’s leader Shay used this doubt to generate some fireworks leading up to the match. He believed the matchup earlier this season would have a different result if his entire roster was present. Would it? But as the saying goes … “BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR…..”. Indeed its was a grave miscalculation by Shay that ended their season.  Brazil Powerhouses Benti and Polo were shut down offensively. Dover’s play was effective but wasn’t enough. On the other side of the ball, FC Barcelona’s Mateo sliced diced though the mid with precision with goal-machine Ngeeb scoring at will. The final ended up 10-6 seeing BARCELONA through to the finals.

As far as game 2 , I never seen so much disrespect for a 2nd seed in all my years reporting as a sports journalist.  Was there anyone who believed in TEAM CRICKET? Going up against the mighty WAYNE’s Boys most people wrote TEAM CRICKET off. However as mentioned in the commentary the week before, the double-shotty double-pump combo of Waheb and Ali was more like a single action pump BB gun. With Waheb showing up late, Ali couldn’t hold up the weight of the crumbling Wayne’s crew. Slowly the team’s v12 engine Abdul-Qawi, slowly dissected WAYNE’s Boys. Actually it was more like a mass slaughter. With Strong D by Migalli, Adnan back in form & with everyone playing on a mission, Wayne’s and company was no match. Team manager Taha obviously had the winning recipe but didn’t share the company secret & is now reaping the rewards. Wayne’s boys coach-manager Sohail was off with his crew to the lounge again post-game but i don’t think they talked about soccer tonight with the season over.  Final 10-2.
