Yemen Elite wins a nailbiter in PKs.  Very intense game from beginning to end.  Both goalies played hard and made unbelieveable saves.  Regulation ended in a 0-0 tie.  Overtime was the closest that Elite game to finishing this game.  Waheeb Noman with a remarkable feed marched down the center of the field toward goal was stymied by the goalie who made an unbelieveable save point blank, but Waheeb would get a second chance in the PKs.  Another player of note was Semir Kadric, who stood on his head making 2 of the most greatest saves in PK. Yemen wins in PKs 4-1. Fan turnout was tremendous.  Yemen Elite would like to thank all of you that attended, please be sure to attend our next playoff game against Celtic United @ Ellicott Creek Park, games starts at 6pm

BDSL Gameday Qtrs Finals – Yemen Elite vs West Seneca Strikers

Elite has faced the Strikers twice this season. First in a preseason match that ended in a 1-1 tie, then a 4-1 win for the Elite in the regular season.  The Strikers also faced the other Yemen Club team FC Yemen during a Tehel Cup match in which FC Yemen beat the Strikers convincingly.

West Seneca will be facing a more complete Yemen Elite team because the last time the teams played Yemen was without right-back Sadami Mohsin, right-mid Otmane Boussag, left-mid Hicham Mihab, left striker Sami Abdulmalik.

Whoever wins this game will be facing one of the top 2 teams in the Championship division, 1st place Panthers or the 2nd place Celtic United (*Celtic – whom made it to the finals in the Tehel Cup) depending on the outcome of the Roos/Sharpshooters match. Yemen will have a to beat the Strikers before thinking ahead, they must control this game with precise passing and also finish the ball when attacking the net. Out for this game is new comer Zekry Azeb who has suffered a foot injury.

The other playoff match for our club will be FC Yemen vs Buffalo Celtics.  Yemen beat them early in the season 5-2 easily.  But this time around will not be easy.  FC Yemen must control this game from the first whistle.  As long as they can string together great passes and defend thier zone with authority, they should be able to pull it out.

Good Luck to both of the Yemen teams, and congratulations to making it into the playoffs!

BDSL GameDay – Yemen Elite vs NS Alliance

The last time these 2 teams met was on the first round of the Tehel Cup.  Yemen Elite won the game convincingly with a score of 5-1.  On that Day NS Alliance started with a man down but soon had a full squad with 1 bench.  Yemen started slow, but slowly picked up in the second half finishing with 3 goals.  NS Alliance were probably short due to the game being during the week.  NS Alliance can be a dangerous team with a full roster.  Yemen has a lot to play for today.  They will have to have a win today to clinch a playoff spot.  If they lose, they will need a lot of help from other teams to keep alive.  Yemen controls thier destiny with a win.  NS Alliance is playing for pride with no chance at the playoffs.

Kick off is at 6PM @ Lehigh. Come show your support, bring your friends and family along for what should be a great game. (7/22/2012)

P.S. There is a double header today at the field with FC Yemen playing against a touch rival in the Lonestars.  Kick off is at 4PM

BDSL Gameday – Yemen Elite vs Rangers

What can I say, one of the tightest division in the league.  Today is must win for alot of teams around the league. In order to stay in playoff contention the Rangers must win.  For Yemen, this win would push them closer to a playoff berth.  Yemen is coming off back to back loses to the Panthers (1-0) and Sharpshooter (3-1).  Yemen has not been at full strength or a solid bench since the Celtic game which was a close game and should have been a win by the Elite.  Now, with the injury list down to 0 and all the players should be in attendance, which should see a better outing by Yemen.  With a win here, Yemen should climb the division or stay at 5th depending on how the other teams do.  Yemen can not afford a loss!! There was great showing at practice, so we should see a much organized team.

Today game was suppose to be played at Rehm Rd, but since the league deemed the field to be below regulation, it has been moved to West Seneca Soccer Complex.

BDSL Gameday – Yemen Elite vs Amherts Sharpshooters

Not since last year’s 1st Division Championship game has it been so important for both teams to win.  Yemen is looking for revenge from last years disappointing loss to Amherst in the championship game. Amherst is trying to keep from dropping lower in the standings within a very tight division.  Yemen has a few injuries today, but should have a bench of players to rotate.

Kick off is at 6PM @ Lehigh. Come show your support, bring your friends and family along for what should be a great game. (7/8/2012)

P.S. Also come support FC Yemen who also has a game at the Lehigh field @4PM against WNY United Reds.

BDSL Gameday – Yemen Elite vs Blackwatch Panthers

There is alot riding on this game for both teams.  Yemen with a record of 4-1-2 (14pts) and Panthers 4-1-1 (13pts and one game in hand) are neck and neck in the division.  Each team controls thier destiny if they win, and with 4 games left in the season and the division standing being so tight, each game is critical.  One back story to this game involves a former player and current coach to the Blackwatch academy.  This distinguished person is none other than Mateo Escobar.  Mateo has grown on all of us, everyone from the players to the fans.  He was awarded the captains badge based on his leadership ability and his commanding demeanor on the field. If there is one player on the field today who wants to win more, it will be him, but everyone will step up and play thier hearts out.  He will be facing his former team and current employer.  The Panthers (Last year’s Championship Champs) have a very skilled team, with the likes of Jim Hesch who was former Head Coach of the Canisius College Men’s Soccer Team, Hesch played in the National Professional Indoor Soccer League and USL Outdoor League from 1995-2002. Also another standout Matt Stuczynski who is an assistant coach at the University at Buffalo. And the list goes on and on.  This is a team with very high soccer IQ.  Yemen will have to be smart and control the game. If Yemen plays the way they did against Amherst and West Seneca, they will definitely have a chance to pull off a win.  Yemen will be without a few players and will more than likely start this game short or no subs.

Yemen will be short on players on the bench due to injury and personal matter.  Let’s just hope Weapon X can be ready in time.

Kick off is at 6PM @ UB North – Kunz Field. Come show your support, bring your friends and family along for what should be a great game. (7/1/2012)
